Originally formed as a project by Gustavo Riviera, founder of the Forgotten Boys - a group that has been active for 20 years in the independent scene in Sao Paulo, Riviera Gaz began in 2013. In 2015 Gustavo joined musician Paulo Kishimoto (Forgotten Boys and Pitty) and the american Steve Shelley, known for being Sonic Youth’s drummer, one of the most important alternative rock groups in the world.
The band brings influences of 70's rock, glam rock and psychedelic folk to the current music scene. Their first EP of four songs, titled "Pere Ubu”, came out in 2016 and now they’re preparing to release their debut album "Connection" by the brazilian label HBB. The first single “If I had one” will be available in april 13 and the full album will come out soon on CD, LP, K7 and on the main digital platforms.
Formada inicialmente como um projeto de Gustavo Riviera, fundador do Forgotten Boys - grupo que atua há vinte anos na cena independente, o Riviera Gaz teve início em 2013. Com algumas músicas já compostas, Em 2015 Gustavo se juntou ao músico Paulo Kishimoto (Forgotten Boys e Pitty) e ao americano Steve Shelley, conhecido por ter sido baterista do Sonic Youth, um dos mais importantes grupos de rock alternativo do mundo.
No ano seguinte, a banda que traz influências de rock 70’s, glam rock e psychedelic folk, gravou o primeiro EP de quatro músicas intitulado “Pere Ubu” e fez shows pelo Brasil, Argentina e Uruguai. Agora o Riviera Gaz se prepara para lançar o álbum de estreia “Connection” pela gravadora paulista HBB em CD, LP, K7 e nas principais plataformas digitais.
